Meet Lourdes
A Lifelong Calling
I never saw myself doing anything other than healthcare. My calling has always been rooted in two things: a deep desire to be of service and an endless fascination with the human body.
I have always gravitated toward settings where I could observe, listen, and fully understand a patient’s health history and experience. My career has taken me through intensive care, home health, hospice, clinical education, and leadership, caring for patients from infancy through their 90s and beyond.
The greatest lessons I have carried with me are the importance of truly listening, how much can be communicated without words, and the profound power of presence and skilled touch at times when medicine has little more to offer.
Bridging Clinical Care and Bodywork
My deep curiosity about the human body, interest in integrative approaches to health, and my own health story eventually led me into extensive study of yoga, movement science, nutrition, and bodywork.
Discovering Abdominal Therapy first as a client was particularly transformative. It introduced me to an entirely different way of understanding the female body and made me increasingly aware of how much women are never taught about their own physiology. It helped ignite what has become a deep commitment to women's health and to helping women better understand and care for their bodies throughout the many transitions of life.
My nursing background has shaped my interest in using bodywork to support people facing illness, surgery, and complex health conditions. I remain fascinated by how the body responds and adapts through periods of significant change, and by the ways skilled touch can support comfort, recovery, and quality of life.
My Vision for Ebb & Flow
I created Ebb & Flow for people who can benefit from skilled touch but may not find what they need in either a traditional spa setting or an overburdened medical system. This practice provides me an opportunity to integrate my skills and passions and serve in a more creative capacity.
My understanding of trauma and the nervous system has shaped how I work, reinforcing that how a person experiences touch, safety, and connection matters just as much as the techniques I use.
A South Florida native, I have proudly called Castle Rock home for more than 20 years. It is deeply meaningful to me to bring this work to the community where I have raised my family and built my life.
